Such a little lamp... So much excitement!

So I have been sifting through other peoples blogs and I am loving all of the fabulous ideas that I have gotten!!  I am creative all on my own but I love seeing others creative ideas then giving them my own twist!  I am in the "accessorizing" phase in my home which I have begun to think is the hardest, it is really hard to find just the right things... So slowly but surely I have started to accessorize  this house that I Love!!  So I have had this lamp in my guest bedroom ever since we moved into our home with is almost 3 years!  I got it on sale at target for like $10.00 and I like the look of it I just wanted to give it a little more personality!  So below I posted some before and after pictures of my lamp that went from drab to FAB!!  haha!   I have a project that I am hoping to tackle tomorrow, I have a beautiful cork board from Ballard Design that I want to hang in the laundry room and I also purchased a Wall Decal that says "the laundry room loads of fun"  I have never applied one to the wall before so I am hoping that it is easy.  Also when my hubby and I were out shopping over the weekend I got a super cute metal bucket to put towels in, in my guest bathroom!  I had an old wood tote basket that I was just sick of.  So I will also post a few pictures of my bathroom... which still needs a few things... like a new oil rubbed bronze faucet and I am kicking around the idea of painting the cabinets white and distressing them but I have never done it before!  eek!

Gettin' Crafty with it!

So I have been wanting to purchase some fancy storage boxes that are covered in fabric, and instead of spending $20 a box I decided to get a little creative and make my own.  I figured then I can choose my own cute fabric and be completely happy as well!  So I bought 4 cardboard type boxes from IKEA for $10.  They are nice and sturdy and large which is exactly what I needed!

I had bought a large basket for my closet so I somewhat chose fabric the coordinates with the fabric inside the basket!  I got fabric on sale which was awesome and made me so very happy!  I got 2 yards of each fabric which easily covered my 4 large boxes and I had some left over that I covered 2 smaller shoe boxes that I had sitting around the house... yes I was on a roll =)  Her is the basket that I had purchased and the fabrics that I chose!

I am pretty proud of my new closet storage!  I still need to find something to make a label with so I will know what is inside them, but for sure I am going to have the sassiest closet in town =)

So I have to start by saying that this is the first time I have ever written a Blog and I am hoping that is will be another one of my many ways to express myself, and for family and friends to stay "in the Know".   So hopefully someone will enjoy this =)

  A few months ago my wonderful husband gave me an amazing gift... a Nikon D80 SLR!!  Let me just say that I am absolutely thrilled about my new camera!  It is amazing and I know that I have just begun learning what possibilities it holds.  I have discovered a different view through my viewfinder... I look at things completely differently, I have always had a rather artistic outlook on life but it is heightened when I am taking photographs!  I have discovered that there is not really anything that I don't enjoy taking pictures of.  I have only done two photoshoots so far but I am already in love with taking pictures.  I am about to do my third photoshoot of 2 very important people in my life, Mark and Stephanie... and I could not be more excited to capture their love for one another!  I hope to grow with every photoshoot I do... I will keep you posted =)
